Maroon Bells

We had hiked the trails and we were tired. I turned for one last look at the majestic mountains and in that moment decided to make a sketch. My group was accommodating, as long as I did not take too long! And their faces said more than their words.

Out came my pen, and quickly I sketched to capture the essence of the grandeur. Isn’t that what sketching is? Capturing quickly. It is a practice that encourages us to look for the basic shapes, proportions, and line of our focus, something a photograph can not do in the same way.
