Graphite. This is the value study that helped me choose this still life for my colored pencil piece for my graduation portfolio at the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Art & Illustration. I remember, at the time, that it made me chuckle to think of drawing gourds!! I was so used to decorating in the autumn season with them . . . not drawing them!!! But, I was so drawn to the surface texture and the vibrant colors. I hope it makes you smile, too!
