This tree was drawn as a commissioned project for a friend who wanted her exact Black Walnut tree captured in graphite for her to place over her fireplace. I now have a print of it hanging in my own living room! What is it about trees that evoke childhood memories? I loved the time sitting under the tree drawing. It was peaceful to listen to the wind blowing gently through the summer leaves. Doing it in graphite allowed me to focus on the values and to play with texture. Bring one home and sit for awhile remembering days gone by.
